Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Gordon Neave had the goal of pursuing work in aeronautical engineering,
but music and the drum set pushed their way into his heart while he was in high school.
After one year working in aeronautics, he chose to become a professional drummer.
"I spent my early 20's on the road learning my craft/art, but chose to stay at home and pursue the Toronto studio scene at age 24," Neave said.
Through hard work and some good luck, Neave enjoyed much success playing on jingles, albums, TV shows, film scores and musical theater productions.
In the late 1980s, it became evident that digital technology was replacing his skills,
so he moved to Florida with his wife and two children to buy into a children's clothing business in 1991.
He continues to play drums for local church groups while the
clothing business, now solely owned by the Neaves, remains a primary source of income.
In early 2009, at the urging of a friend, he began to write. His love of God is apparent in his introspective and gentle way of
tackling difficult subjects.
KeepGodinAmerica.com is pleased to feature Gordon Neave as a contributing writer.
