God Matters in America

If God doesn't matter, then why are those who do not believe in God so riled up?

I had a conversation with a friend after church the other day, in which she simply stated:

"If those who do not believe in God feel that they are correct in their thinking, then they have nothing to lose. They'll just live this life and that's the end of it. However, if we who believe in God are correct, then they have everything to lose."

Wonderfully stated!

People who don't believe in God say they don't believe in taking things on faith, because they can't "see" the proof. If they'd only open their eyes to their own reality. They believe in what they can't see every day:
  • They have faith every day that the sun will rise.
  • They have faith that they'll be able to get out of bed in the morning.
  • They have faith that if they sit on a chair, it will hold them.
  • They have faith that their children will love them and will do well in the world.
  • They have faith that their newly elected politicians will do things that will help them in their daily lives.
All of life is about faith.

Today the current administration in Washington is trying to undo your faith by moving God out of everything it can get its legal hands on. If you don't believe that, listen to what Senator Jim DeMint had to say on February 5, 2009 about what is being added to the stimulus bill.

Majority leaders, the ACLU, agnostics and atheists are all fired up (almost giddy) because they now think they have the legal power to destroy the faith so many Americans have in God in the name of "fairness" and "equality." God-loving Americans have the same faith our forefathers had when they fled Europe to create a new life so they could be free to worship. They did not flee religious oppression to start a new country that would:

a) take God out of the equation, or
b) allow a few to have the power to ban the majority from even thinking about God.

Nothing can destroy the kind of faith it took to cross that ocean in the name of God. It still lives on in Americans today. Unfortunately, it's going to get harder to even think about faith in this country if the minority has its way.

Hold on to your faith. They can take God out of every public building. They can scratch his name off our government walls. They can move the Ten Commandments out of our judicial halls. They can tell us we can't meet in government-funded buildings and utter the word "God." But they can NEVER take God away from Americans, because too many Americans will always believe in God. We must stand strong and find the best ways to counteract what is happening by continuing to believe and continuing to fight for our heritage. They want us to give up. You may be starting to lose your faith in this nation, but try not to do so. Don't put your trust in men. Put your trust in God and keep moving forward.

As someone once said, "Success is the sweetest revenge."

We must be successful in our lives and in our businesses to show that God is working in us and through us. Think about it this way: If drug dealers can own Hummers and live in mansions, do you think God is not willing to help you in this troubled world if you're willing to stand up for Him?

Keep going. Keep believing. Never lose your faith. God matters . . . so much more than those who deny Him will know in this life. It's the next life they will really be riled up about. Pray that these people find their way before they are forced to "see" that they actually did have everything to lose.
